Admissions Manager
Responsible to: Head of Admissions
Location: Rosedale House, Cambridge
Stephen Perse Schools seeks to appoint an Admissions Manager to join our Admissions department. The Admissions Manager oversees key elements of the admissions process including initial enquiries, open days, assessment days and ad hoc entrance.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience of delivering exceptional customer service with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. They will be familiar with using databases and iSAMS to track and monitor the customer journey and be comfortable meeting families and representing Stephen Perse Schools at both internal and external events. The role requires excellent organisational, communication and presentation skills, database experience, an ability to work accurately under pressure and to multi-task across all aspects of admissions administration and event organisation.
The role will deputise for the Head of Admissions as necessary and will work closely with the Principal, Executive Director and Heads of Schools.

Head of Admissions

The Stephen Perse Foundation (SPF) is a family of leading independent co-educational schools and nurseries in Cambridge, Madingley and Saffron Walden providing an outstanding educational experience for nearly 1600 boys and girls aged 1 to 18. The Foundation comprises four nurseries, two junior schools and the Senior School and Sixth Form situated in the heart of Cambridge.
The Head of Admissions is a newly created role and presents an exciting opportunity to be part of the future vision for SPF. Reporting to the Executive Director (Development, Communications and Admissions) and working closely with the Principal and Head of Senior School, the postholder will sit on the 11-18 Senior Leadership Team. At the forefront of all pupil recruitment activity, the Head of Admissions will be a key player in the strategic direction of the SPF Schools. Working closely with the Executive Director and managing the Admissions team, the postholder will lead and drive all strategic and tactical recruitment activities of the Schools, ensuring a strong admissions process is in place.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for SPF’s values and will have a demonstrable track record in high-quality stakeholder engagement and relationship management, gained from within or outside the education sector. Prior experience in a schools’ admissions context is not essential but the successful candidate will have a good knowledge and understanding of the independent educational landscape and an instinctive feel for SPF’s customers.
With a desire to grow boarding numbers and international outreach, this is an exciting to join SPF. The Head of Admissions will be expected to take the lead on identifying new markets and the role requires a proactive and outgoing approach. Senior Marketing Officer
Pupil recruitment to King’s Ely has increased over the past few years. The School is full in many year groups with waiting lists in operation. This heightened demand has been driven in part by effective marketing programmes which have promoted the School and all that it has to offer to both domestic and international families.
There is a wide mix of techniques used within the annual Marketing Plan to achieve the objectives of building reputation and increasing pupil recruitment including digital media, event sponsorship and management and printed advertising. Whilst operating within an established Brand Guideline, there is a renewed focus on creativity and challenge in all that we do.
The School is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join the team in the role of Senior Marketing Officer. Reporting directly to the Director of Admissions and Marketing, the successful candidate will also benefit from working alongside the Head of Media and PR. A Junior Marketing Officer makes up the team at King’s Ely. A close working relationship with the Admissions Team is of paramount importance. Both teams will be focused on creating a working environment in which customer service, innovation and attention to every detail are key.
Whilst there will be opportunities to learn through the delivery and execution of the day-to-day tasks and projects, further and specific training requirements will be identified and, if appropriate, put in place. King’s Ely is committed to a programme of relevant CPD for all its staff members. An element of travel, to represent the School at UK and International Pupil Recruitment Fairs, will be required.
Principal Responsibilities and duties:
To be involved in all aspects of marketing (internal and external) to support the promotion of the school for the purpose of pupil retention and recruitment. These may include, but are not exclusive to, the following opportunities:
•To work alongside the Director of Admissions and Marketing and the Head of Media and PR to develop the strategic plan, identifying key campaigns to deliver against required pupil recruitment targets
•To investigate new opportunities for the marketing of King’s Ely in order to support, and extend, the UniquelyKing’s proposition
•To be the creative voice and critical eye in the delivery of campaign ideas and customer engagement activities to achieve the objectives of the Marketing Plan
•To get involved in the international marketing of the school to include the management of International Agency Portals, regular communication with international agents and attendance at overseas and UK pupil recruitment events
•To play a significant role in the staging of UK recruitment and reputation events including, but not restricted to Open Mornings, Scholarship Programmes and Senior School Recruitment Fairs (at feeder schools)
•To be part of the team who deliver best in class school tours and to recommend ways in which our prospective family visits can be enhanced and improved.
•To remain vigilant on the execution of the Brand Guidelines providing support and advice to third party partners (external and internal) whilst understanding the need to occasionally challenge and stretch in order to remain fresh and dynamic.
•To monitor spend levels in order to deliver campaigns within allocated budgets.
•To maintain an effective dialogue with the Heads of Department in order to facilitate a smooth and effective internal communications programme
•To oversee the maintenance of an effective website, working with the Junior Marketing Officer to ensure content and pictures are up to date.
•To liaise with external partners –e.g., design, photography, video, merchandise, to ensure campaigns are delivered to brief, on time and on budget.
•To mentor and inspire the Junior Marketing Officer, providing support and advice where most needed.
