Admissions and Marketing Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to join Abercorn School as Admissions and Marketing Manager in a critical cross functional role at the school working with internal teams and external agencies (PR / Digital).
The post-holder will take the lead in developing and delivering outstanding pupil recruitment strategies and create and implement a solid marketing plan to attract high calibre families including communications both internal and external, touring and events.
The post holder will be an articulate, persuasive, and credible ambassador for the School by providing inspiring and motivational leadership, able to think creatively and take pleasure in working in a bustling school environment.

Established in 1987, Abercorn School is an independent, co-educational day school for pupils aged 2-13 set across three prestigious Central London locations. Our Lower School site is in St John’s Wood, with Middle School pupils based in Marylebone. The Upper School site, for pupils in Years 5-8 is based on Portland Place. A new Senior site has recently been procured, which the School will expand into. The School aims to offer its pupils the best start in education by providing a friendly, caring and inspiring academic atmosphere where a true love of learning is nurtured and from which pupils can go on to successfully gain places at a range of selective senior schools.

The role

We are looking for a communications and media manager to join us to oversee all aspects of communications within the school.  This exciting role includes website management, the production of newsletters and publications, promotional material, and advertising.  He or she will have strong interpersonal, organisational, communication, marketing and IT skills and a creative flair.  Experience of InDesign is an advantage.

Marketing Officer

We are looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic graduate, with at least three years of marketing experience, ideally in an educational setting, to join our External Relations Department as Marketing Officer with effect 1st January 2021, or as soon as possible thereafter.

The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, have passion for their work, an appreciation of the independent sector, experience of managing websites and social media channels and be able to craft engaging digital and hard copy content, through the use of video, imagery and text. The Role

Gabbitas is looking for a candidate to fill an exciting new role as the Marketing and New Business director based in our offices in London. This role will be responsible for supporting the growth of Gabbitas across all departments as well as internationally. We are looking for an individual who is experienced in identifying and developing new areas of growth as well as making sure the current areas are working as efficiently as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing new channels and platforms yielding in new client referrals
  • Identifying and leading the expansion into new international markets
  • Communicating with UK and overseas independent schools about hosting seminars and events internationally
  • Strengthening the Gabbitas brand even further
  • Promoting and implementing all existing Gabbitas services as well as UKiset testing to independent school in the UK and overseas schools
  • Developing and hosting online/offline seminars/events in the UK on a quarterly basis
  • Developing a strategic marketing plan for the full range of Gabbitas services
  • Keeping up with developments within the industry and adjusting the strategic marketing plan accordingly if necessary
  • Communicating and working together with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Increasing sales by leveraging data

Requirements

  • Strong marketing and business development experience of 8 – 10 years.
  • In-depth knowledge of the independent school market is a must. Ideally you will have previously worked in one or will have strong ties with individuals working in independent schools. Having links with international schools is also an added benefit.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with experience in managing teams
  • Proven track record of growing a business and delivering on KPIs
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to think strategically
  • Ability to make data driven decisions and a general understanding of CRM systems
  • Fluency in Microsoft 365
