Alumni Engagement and Development Officer
Highfield and Brookham is looking to appoint a dynamic, hardworking and efficient Alumni Engagement and Development Officer.
This part-time role will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes alumni relations, special events and current parents at Highfield and Brookham. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in fundraising and event planning, as well as strong communication skills.
As part of the centenary celebrations in 2007, Highfield and Brookham created an award scheme offering funded school places for children who would draw exceptional benefit from joining the school, perhaps as a result of less than optimal family or educational circumstances. The aim of the Centenary Bursaries Fund is to widen access to children for whom a private-school education is likely to have the greatest impact on their academic and personal development and future life chances. To date 20 Centenary Bursaries have been awarded to hugely deserving children, children whose lives have been transformed because of the education they received from Highfield and Brookham. On average over the last five years, we have had eight Bursary holders in the school at an average annual cost to the Fund of £95,000.We aim to continue and even extend this level of support. This role will be pivotal to achieving the mid-term goal of reaching a Fund total of £2million. Highfield and Brookham enjoys an exceptionally strong relationship with their alumni often seeing many returning as members of staff, parents and even grandparents. This role will ensure the alumni programme continues to go from strength to strength.
This is a two-day a week job, working term-time only.
Skills and experience required:
- Experience in fundraising, event planning, or donor relations
- Proven track record of success in developing and executing fundraising strategies

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills
- Proficiency at managing databases
- Flexible approach in order to attend events and meetings

Marketing Manager
We are seeking a marketing professional with excellent administrative and organisational skills to work with our Director of Communications & Marketing in the position of Marketing Manager.
The successful candidate will have an active role in all aspects of the school’s communications with its stakeholders, including current and prospective parents, past pupils and past parents. The role is diverse and varied: from content creation for social media, the website, digital and printed newsletters, to photography, design, maintaining databases and being responsive to parents and colleagues.
An important feature of the role is the ability to multi-task and get involved in the daily life of a busy boarding school.
This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break for 39 weeks per year (34 term time weeks and 5 weeks in the school holidays). Working hours during term-time will be completed between 8am and 6pm in line with the requirements of the school. A degree of working flexibly will be considered for the right applicant.

Admissions Registrar
The Admissions and Marketing Team is the first point of contact for families interested in a place for their daughter at Farnborough Hill and aims to provide a warm, welcoming and knowledgeable first impression of the school.
The Registrar acts as the primary point of contact for all prospects, leading and influencing families through the entry process to conversion and supporting with the on-boarding process. This new position reports to the Director of Admissions and Marketing and offers an opportunity for a professional individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong track record in admissions to deliver outstanding customer service to prospective families. It is a crucial post, key to the continued growth and development of Farnborough Hill.
The salary will be based on a FTE of £35,000 per annum, contributory pension scheme, on-site parking and a remission of fees for a daughter attending the school. This is a term time position plus INSET days and 15 days to be worked during the holidays, as agreed with the Director of Admissions and Marketing. Working hours are 8.30 am – 4.30 pm (including an unpaid lunch break of 1 hour).
Previous experience in a registrar or senior administrative role plus excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi-task is essential, together with a very good eye for detail and professional discretion when handling confidential information. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with excellent communication skills who is able to confidently and courteously deal with telephone calls and correspond in writing to prospective parents. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including being able to confidently manipulate data in Excel and mail merge in Word, and have a flexible, pro-active approach to work, and willing to carry out a variety of tasks and get involved in all aspects of school life.

This new role of Director of Development will lead the development function, collaborating with the leadership team to build alumni relations and leverage those contacts and other opportunities to provide funds for the benefit of the School.
