Admissions Registrar

We are looking to appoint an Admissions Registrar within the Admissions and Marketing Department. The successful candidate will form an integral part of the Admissions Team and will work alongside a team of two other Admissions Registrars.

The purpose of this role is to support the Director of Admissions in ensuring best practice in admissions procedures and processes so that the College meets its recruitment targets. In addition to supporting the Director of Admissions, the Admissions Registrar will work closely with the other Admissions Registrars to ensure consistency and shared best practice across all admissions activity.

The Admissions Registrar will provide all prospective families to the College with a friendly, professional, helpful and efficient service throughout the recruitment cycle S/he will also be responsible for all administration and data input relating to the admissions process for each family considering the College.
The ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills and personal warmth S/he will be logical, thorough and a superb communicator with a good command of written and spoken English and excellent attention to detail. The Admissions Registrar will ideally have a strong customer service mentality and experience of using databases Experience of working in school or university admissions or in an educational setting would also be an advantage but not essential He/she will be sympathetic to the School’s Catholic ethos and will be comfortable with articulating this when communicating with prospective parents and pupils.

Director of External Relations

Founded in 1844, Rossall is a co-educational boarding and day school with an illustrious history and a clear strategic vision for the future. Situated on the Fylde Coast, the majestic backdrop of the Cumbrian Peaks and the Irish Sea provide a spectacular environment within which a community of 690 boys and girls. Reporting to the Headmaster, the Director of External Relations will be a member of the Senior Executive leading an outstanding team focussed on developing and enhancing the brand perception of Rossall School, furthering its regional, national and global profile and continuing to grow the school’s roll to ensure a sustainable future.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement marketing, communications and pupil recruitment strategies, ensuring that they are aligned with the School’s vision, aims and strategic priorities, which serve to differentiate Rossall from its competitors.
  • Oversee marketing and communications across the Rossall community with a view to strengthening the school, internally and externally, and strengthening the Schools’ overall standing and reputation with all key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the optimum fill of the School, monitoring and responding to key market trends in pupil recruitment, revising strategies and tactical marketing plans where appropriate, lead and guide the Admissions Department in pupil recruitment to achieve the School’s growth targets and develop and implement a sound strategy for recruiting pupils for Rossall School for the future
  • Develop and deliver a strategic marketing, admissions, communication and development plan to underpin the School’s strategic development plan.
  • Manage, mentor and motivate a team of eight across the disciplines of marketing, admissions and communications.

This role will suit an experienced and innovative professional with a proven track record within a sales and marketing related context – an individual who will possess excellent relationship-building skills, a strong sense of collegiate teamwork as well as entrepreneurial and commercial instincts. Experience of working within an educational environment is not essential as the role might suit an exceptional individual with appropriate commercial sales and marketing experience gained outside the sector. The successful candidate will have an instinctive feel for the independent boarding and day market, combined with the relevant transferable skills to undertake this complex and fulfilling role. You will have experience of creating and writing strategies and policies, be adept at managing teams within a multi-disciplinary environment and will be target driven.

International Registrar

Rossall School seeks to appoint an aspirant, experienced person to the role of International Registrar to deliver the Admissions process from initial enquiry through to the student arriving at the school.

The role of International Registrar is one of the most important sales and administrative positions within Rossall School. The individual appointed will deliver a responsive, friendly and efficient service and will be expected to have a thorough and hands-on knowledge of the day-to-day workings of the School.

The role will encompass external representation of the School and as such s/he will be a persuasive Ambassador for the School. Overseas visits to Agents and recruitment fairs are an essential part of the role and therefore the successful applicant must be willing and able to travel abroad for up to 50 days per year.
