Public Affairs and Communications Officer

Contract: Permanent, Full time with consideration given to suitable candidates wishing to work part time

Location: Office based (Market Harborough) or home based with access to Market Harborough and travel across the UK

Salary: c.£27,000 depending on the skills and experience of the appointed candidate

HMC – The Heads’ Conference – is a professional association of heads of the world’s leading independent schools.
This is a newly created post the main purpose of which is to provide specialist support and carry out tasks to further HMC’s political objectives and communications strategy.
The role is designed to support the Director of Communications on public affairs work in the run up to and after the General Election (assumed to be held in 2024). The post-holder will be a member of the HMC communications team. As such, in addition to fulfilling role-specific responsibilities, the postholder will be expected to support the delivery of the wider work of the team. This includes supporting HMC committees, managing ad hoc projects and, crucially, securing a successful transition to the new CRM system recently commissioned by HMC.

Your key responsibilities will include;
• Delivering key aspects of HMC’s public affairs strategy either by supporting members to engage with stakeholders, or by engaging directly.
• Tracking and recording all political engagement by HMC and its members. Providing regular updates on progress against objectives to senior colleagues in both verbal and written forms.
• Monitoring political/media events and advising colleagues on implications for HMC and the independent sector.
• Making suggestions for proactive and reactive actions following political/media events.
• Building relationships with HMC members and their staff.
• Supporting HMC schools through various means to ensure they can engage with their local stakeholders.
• Developing and updating stakeholder tracking documents.
The right candidate must have/be:
• Educated to degree level or equivalent in communications, marketing, digital marketing/communications or a related subject.
• Experience of running a long-term campaign, managing various stakeholders and tracking engagement.
• Experience of working in a public affairs/government relations role.
• Experience of managing multiple competing workload priorities/activities simultaneously and ensuring that tight deadlines are met.

Head of Marketing and Communications

This is an exciting role to support the leadership work of the Headmaster in a prestigious School located off the London Road in Knighton. Marketing and Communications Manager

You will fully utilise the range of tools we already have at our disposal, especially Salesforce CRM.  Ideally you will also have some experience of using marketing automation platforms and you’ll bring on board other new channels too. In addition to data and digital, you will demonstrate excellent creative judgement and take pride in writing clear and intelligent communications.

Loughborough Schools Foundation is recruiting a Director of Marketing and Admissions. The successful candidate will bring their substantial experience to lead on the development and implementation of the Foundation’s marketing, communications and pupil recruitment strategies. They will line manage established Marketing and Admissions teams and direct and oversee an extensive programme of communications and events.

The successful candidate will have demonstrable and successful marketing experience. Be a strong leader who has a hands-on approach and be commercially astute. You will have vision, be able to think creatively and use your initiative. Experience in Admissions is desirable but certainly not essential.

The Digital Marketing Officer will be responsible for the implementation of the social media strategy for Loughborough Schools Foundation. This includes planning, goal setting, the development of brand awareness and online reputation, and content management.

The post-holder must be a highly motivated, creative and enthusiastic individual with experience of managing social media channels and the ability to drive digital strategies that are proven by testing and metrics. The post-holder will be expected to report on the effectiveness of all social media marketing plans.

This role would suit someone with a positive, creative and imaginative outlook, excellent IT and social media capabilities and excellent organisational skills with the ability to handle and prioritise multiple projects in a busy and exciting environment.

This post is full time however a term-time (plus 2 weeks during the school holidays) working pattern would be considered for the right candidate. Please note that this role requires a willingness to attend events and activities which will require some evening and weekend working.

Digital Marketing Officer

The Marketing Department at Loughborough Schools Foundation is looking to recruit a Digital Marketing Officer in order to support the Schools’ development plans and realise their visions. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, Admissions and Commercial, and working with other members of the Marketing Team, you will create engaging content for the social media channels to enhance the visibility of all four Schools and Nursery, in the local and national marketplace and communicate their many outstanding attributes. This is a varied and rewarding role, with no two days the same. You’ll be an experienced, ‘hands[1]on’ digital marketer, highly motivated, flexible in both your approach and the hours you work and be able to demonstrate your passion and ability to deliver results in managing digital communications.
