Digital Communications and Marketing Officer

We have an exciting opportunity for somebody passionate about digital communications to take responsibility for the dynamic vison, development and implementation of all digital marketing and communications activity across Oundle School and Laxton Junior School.

Oundle School is one of the country’s leading co-educational boarding and day schools, with 860 boarding and 250 day pupils. A further 260 day pupils attend Laxton Junior School. The School is located in the thriving market town of Oundle.

The School’s Communications and Marketing Department is led by the Director of Communications who is closely supported by the Marketing Manager. The team covers all aspects of marketing and press for both Oundle School and Laxton Junior School, as well as overseeing the brand and image of the wider Corporation of Oundle School.

Your responsibilities will predominantly include video production, the creation and management of digital collateral and advertising, as well as the management and promotion of both Schools through social media and online channels such as Vimeo and YouTube. Marketing within the not-for-profit sector is uniquely rewarding in its own right, in addition to which you will enjoy the stability of working for a school that has long been associated with the very best of modern independent education, especially boarding.

The role will particularly suit a motivated and creative self-starter who excels in communicating professionally through digital channels. The work is varied and deeply rewarding, suiting an innovative and video-savvy candidate who is keen to play a key role in a small but well-established and highly respected team. You will thrive in a fast-moving environment that enables your insightful and considered ideas to be realised quickly. As this is a newly created role that carries a fairly high degree of autonomy, you will need to have the confidence and ability to deliver successful end to end campaigns whilst developing a strong understanding of both the independent education sector and the Corporation of Oundle School.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, and is not affected by term time. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with your skills and experience. You will also enjoy a generous benefits package which is detailed in the job description.

If you are excited by this opportunity to work in education and to apply your considerable skills in bringing social media channels and digital communications to life through exciting and engaging content, this could be the role for you. Please got to the School website at www.oundleschool.org.uk/vacancies for full details and an application form. Please note CV applications cannot be accepted.

Interviews will be held on both Thursday 4 February (pm) and Friday 5 February (pm). This will be a two-stage interview process, therefore shortlisted applicants will be asked to be available on both days.

The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. You will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
