Westbourne School is a leading co-educational Independent School for pupils aged three to sixteen.

The School now seeks to appoint a talented and creative Marketing and Communications Manager. Reporting directly to the Head, this is a key role which will support the School’s vision and strategic aims, and the post holder will work closely with the Head and the Leadership team to further enhance and strengthen the School’s reputation, pupil roll and profile.
We are seeking a highly motivated self-starter, with a proactive and hands-on approach to Marketing and Communications. Whilst some support may be available from external agencies and school administration, this is very much an operational post, where the successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on their own initiative to deliver key Marketing and communications outcomes.
The successful applicant will:
Be experienced in working at both a strategic and operational level
Have a proven track record of working collaboratively within a wider team and be keen to work closely with Admissions, Senior Leadership, Academic and Support staff and the wider School community
Have a sound understanding of Marketing and Communications in an independent educational setting, including knowledge of maintained and independent school competitors in the locality
Be able to develop and enhance the School brand, ensuring all communications and marketing activity reflects the School’s key marketing messages, vision and values
Be adept at producing engaging and distinctive promotional materials
Have experience of creating, maintaining and developing digital and social platforms, with support from external agencies and the school community where appropriate
Be creative, enthusiastic and inspirational, with the ability to drive recruitment, retention and reputation
Have a warm, open and engaging personality with the ability to work effectively with the whole School community

This is a permanent, full-time role, although some flexibility might be available in terms of working arrangements, for example, ‘term time plus’ and/or flexible hours for the right candidate. A flexible attitude to working hours is necessary however, as the post holder will occasionally be required to work in the evenings or at the weekend for open events etc.

Head of Admissions and Retention

The position is a crucial role within the Trust. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Executive team, the Head of Admissions and Retention is responsible for the management and operation of all aspects of student recruitment forecasting from enquiry through to admission. You will develop and deliver the pupil recruitment and retention plan for the School as a whole, through the management and leadership of the Admissions, Marketing and Events Team.
This is a hands-on role and you will act as the schools International Student Recruiter as part of the Admissions team and must therefore be willing and able to travel internationally.
It is essential that you have 5 years demonstrable experience in the Education sector and operating in a management/leadership capacity, along with previous experience in a marketing, sales or customer services role and the ability to report against KPI’s and clear targets. You will be educated to degree level, or have significant relevant experience. Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to quickly inspire confidence is a prerequisite.
Desirable attributes include cross cultural competence and experience of working with a Schools Management System. Previous experience of working in the Independent Education Sector would be a distinct advantage in order to hit the ground running.

This is an opportunity for an outstanding individual to lead the marketing, pupil recruitment and communications strategies of this highly successful school.
The Director of Marketing & Communications is a pivotal role which is at the heart of the school community, interacting with staff, parents, students and community, and is integral to the school’s success.
Your key responsibilities will include developing and delivering a marketing plan that will bring the Head’s vision to life and drive pupil numbers. You will also oversee all advertising and marketing material, communicating a compelling message for the school.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of developing and implementing marketing strategies at a senior level and will be able to demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate and build excellent relationships. Experience in the Education sector is desirable, but not essential.
This is a full time permanent position, starting from September / October 2020. The hours of work are 8.30am to 4.30pm, although attendance at events will require some evening and weekend hours.
