Head of Brand & Digital

ACS International Schools are recruiting for Head of Brand & Digital to join the team.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, Development & Admissions this role will be responsible for the ACS’ Brand, sub brands, its external corporate reputation and leading ACS’s digital presence. This role sets digital best practices, owns the ACS website and is responsible overall for ACS premium brand position.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

ACS Strategy: Brand strategy, and ACS wide digital transformation projects.

Brand: With the Head of Marketing & Admissions lead ACS brand development engaging with and influencing all internal key stakeholders.

Acts as ACS brand champion and engages all parts of the organisation in the brand strategy through cross-functional collaboration. development and implementation, leading brand evolution as required.

Manage ACS employer brand identity and proposition – in line with ACS values to attract, develop and retain talent.
Lead physical branding in all schools working with Marketing Managers to implement.

Responsible for registration and protection of trademarks and copyrights for ACS and approves new use of branding across the organisation.

Develops master branded materials for the schools working with Head Marketing and Communications UK Schools.

Develops Fundraising branding and communications working with the Development team.

Supports Doha marketing team with branding leadership and works with Marketing Manager Doha to approve all branding for Doha.

Leads the creation of all new non-campaign related stills photography, videos, graphics, and animations as required by UK schools marketing teams to better showcase the ACS brand to key internal and external stakeholders and customers.

Develops and manages ACS company-wide internal communications and external corporate comms.
Member of crisis comms response team.
Digital

Responsible for ACS website ensuring it is on brand and supports ACS & schools’ strategic goals and central function requirements and drives effective SEO.

Oversee agency relationships with digital suppliers e.g. PPC, website and development and manage team of 3 to deliver campaigns against agreed objectives.

Oversee ACS social media strategy and best practice setting guidelines. Owns corporate social media function.

Develops regular-giving digital campaigns to reach fundraising targets working with Development team to meet business objectives.

Lead on content development to meet schools’ requirements delivering market-leading content and assets – video, photography, written content.

Oversees and reports on ACS online reputation working with key stakeholders to initiate action as needed.

Leads on digital-related corporate reputation issues.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Brand professional with demonstrable experience of brand management
Digital experience and knowledge of programmes and software,

Good project management skills with an eye for detail and an ability to see things through.

Clear oral and written communicator with the ability to work effectively and establish credibility with diverse internal and external stakeholders.

Brand Development Manager

Malvern College Enterprises Ltd (MCEL), the trading subsidiary of Malvern College, operates a number of campus-based commercial enterprises in support of the College and its associated preparatory schools, The Downs Malvern and Abberley Hall School. These include Malvern College Summer School (MCSS), Malvern College Cricket Festival (MCCF), the National Schools Symphony Orchestra (NSSO), Malvern Active, Events and Facility Hire.

The Brand Development Manager, in liaison with individual heads of business, is responsible for the successful development and implementation of sales and marketing strategy for the above MCEL business lines. A particular focus of this position is to provide technical and functional leadership and support to business administrators and leaders to achieve dedicated business objectives. The role works alongside and will report to the Commercial Manager and will also collaborate closely and continuously with the College’s Marketing & Admissions team to leverage potential synergies and to ensure brand alignment. It is intended that this position will be supported by a full time Marketing Coordinator.

Areas of Responsibility
» Manage and develop MCEL marketing strategy and planning, working closely with heads of business to support key objectives and the development of the College’s proprietary courses.
» Contribute to the annual budgeting process and manage marketing budgets and cost control in line with the profitability and aspirations of each business line.
» Manage the delivery of marketing support to the relevant business heads and the MCEL team.
» Responsible for the completion and quality of all tactical marketing activity.
» Support the maintenance and development of websites and CRM systems.
» Responsible for the design and production of all marketing collateral.
» Create, implement, and review appropriate sales campaigns.
» Promote the organisation through attendance at trade fairs, conferences and other relevant events.
» Work closely with the College’s Marketing & Admissions team to ensure brand alignment and the leveraging of business synergies wherever possible.
» Plan, implement and oversee media and PR activity.

Safeguarding Responsibilities
» Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young persons with whom you come into contact.
» Report any safeguarding concerns, including low level concerns, to the Designated Safeguarding Lead or their Deputy in a timely manner.

Hours and Benefits
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday. However, a flexible approach to hours is required.

Senior Brand Manager

Background

In September 2012, Malvern College opened its first overseas school, Malvern College Qingdao, in the eastern Chinese province of Shandong. This was followed by a second school in Chengdu, south-west China, in 2015. Since then further schools have been opened in Hong Kong, Cairo and Switzerland, and the Malvern College Family of Schools now educates over 3,000 pupils overseas, in addition to 1,000 pupils in the UK. Exciting plans are currently being developed to continue to develop the College’s international portfolio over the next decade.

Much work has been done recently at group level, under the leadership of the College’s Director of Marketing & Admissions, to articulate a new brand strategy and vision for the College and its family of schools, and the College, through its subsidiary Malvern College International, now wishes to recruit a Senior Brand Manager to interpret and articulate the new brand framework for its overseas schools. In addition to this strategic branding work, the role will also involve supporting each of the College’s international partners in developing and rolling out their own marketing strategies, ensuring they are aligned with the overarching brand strategy in place at group level.

The successful candidate will be expected to travel when required to each of the College’s international schools and to work at a senior level with proprietors and other staff across the group.

The role will report to the Director of International Schools on a day to day basis, with a dotted reporting line to the College’s Director of Marketing & Admissions, who will provide functional leadership and oversight of brand and marketing strategy as they pertain to the Malvern group as a whole.

Main Duties, Activities and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with proprietors and senior marketing executives from each international school to articulate and interpret the group brand framework to ensure it is relevant at a local and regional level in each case
  • Support the development of marketing strategies and initiatives for each  international school, ensuring that marketing activity and key outputs (for example
    website, prospectus, and video) are aligned with the group brand framework
  • Develop content and communications that can be re-applied across the Malvern College family of schools and support the co-ordination across the group of
    related marketing communications
  • Work with the digital team in the UK, and across the group, to maximise brand awareness across the international group
  • Support the development and profile-raising of strategic group initiatives such as the Malvern Pathways Professional Development Framework, the Group HR Service and the MCI Academy.
  • Support new business partners in the development of their initial marketing strategy and in the roll-out of marketing activity in both the pre-operational and live stages of new projects
  • Work with the UK Director of Marketing and Admissions, to explore the development of Malvern College International (MCI) as a B2B brand in its own
    right, ensuring an appropriate position in the group hierarchy alongside Malvern College and individual international schools
  • Work with the Director of Education and UK Director of Marketing & Admissions to develop a Marketing & Admissions training programme which can be delivered to M&A staff across the group as part of Malvern Pathways
  • Work with the UK Director of Marketing and Admissions and other relevant colleagues to create a comprehensive Partner Handbook which aids successful on-boarding for new partners joining the Malvern College Family of Schools and which supports the operational development of new projects

Additional

  • Liaise closely and regularly with the College’s marketing team, through the UK Director of Marketing & Admissions, to ensure a deep understanding of the College’s ethos and values
  • Visit each international school on a regular basis to ensure strategic alignment on brand and positioning
  • Liaise continuously with relevant MCI school staff to ensure marketing activity and outputs meet with MCI and College requirements
  • Contribute to formal Quality Audit visits (usually taking place annually)
  • Report, when required, to the MCIL Board of Directors and other governance forums within the family of schools

Head of Brand & Foundation Development
