Communications and Marketing Manager

Bedford Modern School (BMS) is an outstanding HMC independent co-educational day school for students aged 7-18. Our community is a friendly, happy and supportive one and all of the 350 staff members, spanning both teaching and non-teaching roles, help to make BMS a very special place to work.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic communications and marketing professional to join our busy External Relations Team. This role is crucial in driving further growth of our already strong market position and developing the distinctive BMS brand and reputation. It is a hands-on role managing design and print, websites and all forms of media in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and would suit someone who enjoys balancing operational and strategic tasks.

We are ideally looking for someone with a flair for writing compelling content, developing creative advertising campaigns and a successful track record in digital marketing. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience using Adobe InDesign, Premiere Pro and Microsoft Office are key. You should also feel comfortable using a variety of marketing channels and tactics and be able to analyse the success of campaigns and demonstrate return on investment.

Prior experience of working in a school is not essential but the successful candidate will have empathy for independent education in general, combined with an instinctive feel for the school’s customers and their needs.

Digital Marketing and Communications Assistant

 

The Digital Marketing and Communications Assistant will support the delivery of the school’s marketing objectives and will provide a central focus for all communications activities across the school.

The successful candidate will have a passion and talent for marketing using digital channels and social media platforms. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a good nose for a story and creative flair. They will also work alongside the Admissions Registrar with the aim of increasing pupil recruitment, developing the School’s reputation and ensuring the School’s brand identity is reflected consistently across all marketing material.

Start Date: Ideally, we would like the successful applicant to join us as soon as possible however, we can be flexible about the start date if needed.

Contract: Permanent, part – time (24hrs/wk, hours by arrangement during term time with occasional Saturdays or evenings, +10 days during school holiday.)

Communications Officer

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER

 This is a part-time, fixed term contract to cover a period of Maternity Leave. 29 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

 Salary band: £17,721 – £20,762 per annum, pro-rata, depending on skills and experience (£22,152 – £25,953 per annum FTE)

Focussing on engaging our communities, the Communications Officer will play a key role in the recruitment and retention of pupils and parents through copywriting and storytelling.

You should have at least two years’ experience in a communications role, be educated to degree-level (or a similar professional level), and have an empathy with the values of College. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and organised individual with a positive attitude, an eye for detail and an ability to tailor content to specific audiences. You will form part of a team of Marketing and Communications professionals, including a Photographer, within the wider External Relations Department.

The position is part-time, 29 hours a week, 52 weeks a year. It is anticipated that the 29 hours will be worked as five part days or four full days. Other working patterns may be considered if details are included in your application; however, working on a Friday is essential.

Head of Communications

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and talented communications professional to join Eton College as Head of Communications. The successful candidate will be central to Eton’s ongoing strategy. Reporting to the Director of Communications, Engagement and Development, the Head of Communications will support and work closely with the Head Master, the Provost and the wider leadership team in curating, presenting and protecting the Eton brand. Marketing & Communications Manager
