This is an exciting role to support the leadership work of the Headmaster in a prestigious School located off the London Road in Knighton. Leicester High School for Girls is a thriving and ambitious independent day school for girls aged 3 to 18 which prides itself on consistently high academic excellence within a supportive, enriching and creative environment.  

We are seeking a dynamic and creative strategic thinker, with an acute eye for detail, to manage and coordinate all marketing and communication activities throughout the School. This is a hands-on role and we are looking for a candidate who can balance the development of the School’s marketing strategy with its successful implementation.

We are a small but busy School and the successful candidate will be at the forefront of communicating our fantastic work to our various audiences. You will work closely with the Admissions Manager and the Leadership Team to ensure the School’s marketing activities met the aims of pupil recruitment and increasing the School’s profile locally and with wider stakeholders.

The ideal person will be ideas-focused, flexible, strategic and have excellent communication skills. Excellent at leading and encouraging others to support the marketing of the School. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong proven track record of success in marketing and will possess excellent IT skills.

This role is full time, year-round and evening and weekend work will be required during term-time.

This varied and fast paced role will be suited to a dynamic and experienced marketing professional who can demonstrate effective leadership skills, together with an extensive marketing, communications or a marketing-led sales background ideally featuring an international aspect. Prior experience of working in a school is not essential but the successful candidate will have empathy for independent education in general as well as with the St Swithun’s all-girls ethos, combined with an instinctive feel for the School’s customers and their needs.

The successful candidate will be an articulate, persuasive and credible ambassador for the School and will possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills. A highly analytical marketing professional who is ready to hit the ground running and able to drive student recruitment at all levels, including nursery, prep, senior and sixth form, would thrive in this role. We are looking for a Head of Communications and Marketing to lead the School’s Communication and Marketing strategy, for internal and external stakeholders. Supported by a marketing team, and reporting to the Director of External Relations, you will lead on all marketing activities at Freemen’s, including the exciting new Freemen’s Global programme.
