St Edmund’s College offers modern facilities in a magnificent country setting in rural Hertfordshire, providing a safe and stimulating environment for young minds.

We require a Director of External Relations to work in close collaboration with the Headmaster to manage, develop and oversee the College’s strategic external relations plan in line with the overall school strategy and develop and implement an effective UK and international pupil recruitment strategy including the identification of potential new markets and relationships.

Responsible for the development and delivery of the marketing strategy and for directing and leading the marketing, admissions and alumni operations.

The successful candidate will welcome the many opportunities to contribute to the lively extra-curricular life of the College, which is situated in rural East Hertfordshire. St Edmund’s is England’s oldest Catholic school offering an all-round co-education for students from 3 to 18 and for families from all faiths.

Whilst not in a teaching role, as Director of External Relations you will be working on a regular basis in a school in a role which gives opportunity for contact with children. As such, you will be in regulated activity and an enhanced DBS check (which includes children’s barred list information) will be required in advance of appointment.

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. As with all College staff members, you will therefore be responsible for providing a safe environment in which children can learn.

The post will involve close contact with, and a high degree of responsibility for, children and young adults. The majority of this will be regulated activity.
