Head of Admissions

Salary: In the region of £50,000 to £60,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience

The Stephen Perse Foundation (SPF) is a family of leading independent co-educational schools and nurseries in Cambridge, Madingley and Saffron Walden providing an outstanding educational experience for nearly 1600 boys and girls aged 1 to 18. The Foundation comprises four nurseries, two junior schools and the Senior School and Sixth Form situated in the heart of Cambridge.

The Head of Admissions is a newly created role and presents an exciting opportunity to be part of the future vision for SPF. Reporting to the Executive Director (Development, Communications and Admissions) and working closely with the Principal and Head of Senior School, the postholder will sit on the 11-18 Senior Leadership Team. At the forefront of all pupil recruitment activity, the Head of Admissions will be a key player in the strategic direction of the SPF Schools. Working closely with the Executive Director and managing the Admissions team, the postholder will lead and drive all strategic and tactical recruitment activities of the Schools, ensuring a strong admissions process is in place.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for SPF’s values and will have a demonstrable track record in high-quality stakeholder engagement and relationship management, gained from within or outside the education sector. Prior experience in a schools’ admissions context is not essential but the successful candidate will have a good knowledge and understanding of the independent educational landscape and an instinctive feel for SPF’s customers.

With a desire to grow boarding numbers and international outreach, this is an exciting to join SPF. The Head of Admissions will be expected to take the lead on identifying new markets and the role requires a proactive and outgoing approach. The successful candidate will be an articulate, persuasive and credible ambassador for SPF and will possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
