St Mary’s School, Cambridge is an independent day and boarding school for girls aged 3 to 18.

St Mary’s is seeking a talented, enthusiastic individual who can write high-quality content, seek out news stories and build relationships across our whole community to promote St Mary’s brand identity and values. In addition, the candidate will provide support for our Senior School PTA that will enable them to continue to run in-school events such as the second-hand uniform sale and the Christmas Fair as well as help market our new summer school – illuminate, Cambridge.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a hands-on approach and, will have the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse groups of people, including staff, parents, pupils, prospective parents and feeder schools.

Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Any offer of employment will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure, the receipt of satisfactory references and the school’s pre-employment medical questionnaire, right to work in the UK, relevant original ID documentation and degree certificate(s). The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask all shortlisted applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are “spent” unless they are “protected” under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

Interviews will be conducted in person, and they will explore candidates’ suitability to work with children. Candidates are required to bring with them the necessary ID documentation and any relevant qualification certificate(s), all of which must be originals.
