Senior Marketing Officer

Pupil recruitment to King’s Ely has increased over the past few years. The School is full in many year groups with waiting lists in operation. This heightened demand has been driven in part by effective marketing programmes which have promoted the School and all that it has to offer to both domestic and international families.
There is a wide mix of techniques used within the annual Marketing Plan to achieve the objectives of building reputation and increasing pupil recruitment including digital media, event sponsorship and management and printed advertising. Whilst operating within an established Brand Guideline, there is a renewed focus on creativity and challenge in all that we do.

The School is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join the team in the role of Senior Marketing Officer. Reporting directly to the Director of Admissions and Marketing, the successful candidate will also benefit from working alongside the Head of Media and PR. A Junior Marketing Officer makes up the team at King’s Ely. A close working relationship with the Admissions Team is of paramount importance. Both teams will be focused on creating a working environment in which customer service, innovation and attention to every detail are key.

Whilst there will be opportunities to learn through the delivery and execution of the day-to-day tasks and projects, further and specific training requirements will be identified and, if appropriate, put in place. King’s Ely is committed to a programme of relevant CPD for all its staff members. An element of travel, to represent the School at UK and International Pupil Recruitment Fairs, will be required.

Principal Responsibilities and duties:
To be involved in all aspects of marketing (internal and external) to support the promotion of the school for the purpose of pupil retention and recruitment. These may include, but are not exclusive to, the following opportunities:
•To work alongside the Director of Admissions and Marketing and the Head of Media and PR to develop the strategic plan, identifying key campaigns to deliver against required pupil recruitment targets
•To investigate new opportunities for the marketing of King’s Ely in order to support, and extend, the UniquelyKing’s proposition
•To be the creative voice and critical eye in the delivery of campaign ideas and customer engagement activities to achieve the objectives of the Marketing Plan
•To get involved in the international marketing of the school to include the management of International Agency Portals, regular communication with international agents and attendance at overseas and UK pupil recruitment events
•To play a significant role in the staging of UK recruitment and reputation events including, but not restricted to Open Mornings, Scholarship Programmes and Senior School Recruitment Fairs (at feeder schools)
•To be part of the team who deliver best in class school tours and to recommend ways in which our prospective family visits can be enhanced and improved.
•To remain vigilant on the execution of the Brand Guidelines providing support and advice to third party partners (external and internal) whilst understanding the need to occasionally challenge and stretch in order to remain fresh and dynamic.
•To monitor spend levels in order to deliver campaigns within allocated budgets.
•To maintain an effective dialogue with the Heads of Department in order to facilitate a smooth and effective internal communications programme
•To oversee the maintenance of an effective website, working with the Junior Marketing Officer to ensure content and pictures are up to date.
•To liaise with external partners –e.g., design, photography, video, merchandise, to ensure campaigns are delivered to brief, on time and on budget.
•To mentor and inspire the Junior Marketing Officer, providing support and advice where most needed.
