Full-time, All Year Round

Based on site at Benenden School, Kent

Salary £30,202 per annum

Tell the stories of one of the world’s leading independent schools

Few content roles offer this variety.

Every day at Benenden brings fresh stories to discover, in classrooms and boarding houses, on stages and sports fields, and through the achievements of individual students.

We are looking for an imaginative and energetic Digital Content Creator who can find and shape those stories, then bring them to life.

This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in a remarkable School community and to play an important part in shaping how Benenden School is seen and experienced online. You will have the freedom to develop ideas, build relationships across the School and create engaging content that gives current and prospective families a compelling insight into our Complete Education.

The Role

At the heart of the role will be video-led storytelling for social media, supported by strong writing, photography and day-to-day management of the School’s digital channels.

Working as part of our collaborative Marketing team, you will:

● identify and develop stories from across School life

● plan, film and edit engaging short-form and longer-form video

● create platform-appropriate content for our social media channels

● take day-to-day responsibility for our social content

● help keep our website current, engaging and easy to navigate

● use audience insight and performance data to improve what we create.

This is a hands-on role. You will spend much of your time out across the School, getting to know students and staff, attending activities and capturing the moments that make Benenden distinctive.

The role will include occasional evening and weekend work.

About You

You will be a confident storyteller with strong editorial judgement and the ability to turn an initial idea into compelling finished content.

You will have:

● strong video production skills, including planning, filming, sound recording and editing

● experience creating engaging social media content

● excellent written and visual communication skills

● curiosity and a proactive approach to finding stories

● the confidence and sensitivity to build trusted relationships with students and staff

● strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several projects at once

Experience in education is welcome but not essential. We are equally interested in candidates from media, publishing, production, charities, cultural organisations or other content-rich environments.
