Branding within an Independent School setting poses large challenges. The need to balance tradition with 21st Century thinking is paramount. To maintain a successful school brand it has to reflect the values and vision of the school. This practical one-day course will equip delegates with the knowledge and tools to assess and potentially develop their own school identity.

I'm Creative Director at Quantock Design, a role I took on in April 2025 after 23 years with the agency. Since graduating from Falmouth College of Arts, I've spent the past 15 years specialising in independent school branding across print and digital.
My approach is methodical with an eye for detail. Typography is my favourite aspect of design, recognising that type is often the primary vehicle for communicating a school's character and values. Great design, I believe, comes from this kind of human insight and creative intelligence.

Strategic Director, Quantock
As Strategic Director at Quantock, I lead brand transformation and growth strategy for independent schools across the UK. In recent years, my focus has been on helping schools clarify their positioning, strengthen admissions performance and build long-term marketing infrastructure in an increasingly competitive landscape.
I work closely with Heads, Governors and senior leadership teams to develop distinctive brand platforms, admissions-focused messaging and integrated marketing systems spanning digital, print and in-person engagement. With a background in design, I bring a strategic approach that balances clarity, creativity and commercial discipline.
I’m naturally curious about how things truly work - from admissions journeys to internal culture - and I’m comfortable asking the difficult questions that lead to clearer thinking. I believe the best work comes from honest conversations, shared ambition and relationships built on trust over time.
Ultimately, I care about work that feels considered and coherent in the real world - helping schools move from reactive marketing to confident, purposeful communication that supports sustainable success.
